Check network requirements and recover Bluetooth connections for the nJoy UWG5-4999 thermostat.
WiFi connection
- Use a 2.4 GHz network compatible with IEEE 802.11 b/g/n and WPA or WPA2 security.
- Check signal strength with a phone beside the thermostat. Weak coverage may require moving the router or improving coverage.
- If the network name contains a comma, quotation mark, or semicolon, it may be missing from the app’s list. Enter the network name manually.
- Check whether the router has reached its limit for connected devices. Consult the router documentation or network administrator.
- Restart the router according to its instructions. Check with the router manufacturer or internet provider for firmware updates.
- Nearby wireless devices can cause interference. Temporarily switch them off to check whether the connection improves.
Bluetooth pairing
Use the latest nJoy app and enable Bluetooth on the phone. Wake the thermostat, use the side button to enter standby, and press it again to activate pairing mode. The Bluetooth icon blinks when pairing is available.
If pairing times out, restart the phone, remove the thermostat pairing in the phone’s Bluetooth settings, and restart the phone again. In the app’s Bluetooth connection screen, press and hold the thermostat to remove it. Restart the app and pair again.
If the phone is paired but cannot access the thermostat, close the app, turn the thermostat off and on with its side button, then reopen the app and reconnect. Only one phone can have an active Bluetooth connection at a time; close the app on other phones.
Before a factory reset
A factory reset deletes personal settings and cannot be undone. It is not the first recovery step. Contact WarmlyYours Technical Support at (800) 875-5285 if the checks above do not resolve the problem.
