Connecting a first-generation Leviton DW15S or DW15P WiFi control

Use My Leviton and the instructions for the exact control generation.

This procedure applies to DW15S hardwired switches and DW15P plug-in controls in the linked first-generation manuals. Their manuals list 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi with WPA/WPA2 security; do not apply a universal 2.4-GHz-only rule or assume every newer Leviton model uses the same pairing sequence.

  1. Install/update My Leviton, sign in and select Add Device. Confirm a strong WiFi signal at the control and follow the app’s instructions.
  2. Look for the flashing green enrollment indicator. For DW15S, holding the top paddle for seven seconds until amber, then releasing, starts enrollment mode.
  3. If connection fails, check the selected network/password, signal and internet connection, then record whether failure occurred at device discovery, WiFi joining or account/cloud enrollment.
  4. Use factory reset only when needed: on these models, hold the appropriate paddle/button through amber until it rapidly flashes red/amber at about 14 seconds, then release. This resets the device; plan to enroll and configure it again.

Use the DW15P button rather than a wall-switch paddle. Bluetooth, Z-Wave, HomeKit and later-generation controls need their own instructions. After setup, verify schedules and automatic shutoff settings before relying on a heating-control application.
