Match the exact box model to its label and manufacturer catalog.
The older attached Carlon brochure shows UL file E42728. The ABB-hosted Carlon enclosures catalog now available shows E11461 on its molded non-metallic junction-box page. Do not use either number as a universal listing for every Carlon product.
Identify the box’s exact catalog number and confirm the marking on the enclosure against the matching manufacturer documentation. The catalog distinguishes Type 4/4X and Type 6P models. The older attachment specifically marks its 6P models with an asterisk.
Type 6P covers defined environmental conditions, including prolonged submersion at limited depth; it does not mean any box, fitting or field-made opening is suitable for unlimited underwater service. Preserve the specified gasket, lid, fastening and entry arrangement, and select a box suitable for the actual installation.
