Understand the LCD-8 temperature setpoint, hold-on time, and low-temperature lockout.
The SCV-DUAL / LCD-8 has three configurable fields: hold-on time, operating-temperature setpoint, and low-temperature lockout. Use the magnetic-switch configuration procedure in the manual to read or change them.
- Operating temperature: the choices are None, 36°F, 38°F, or 40°F. The factory setting is 38°F (3.3°C). “None” means the controller responds to moisture without the temperature condition; it does not mean the heater is switched off.
- Hold-on time: the choices are off, one hour, three hours, or five hours. The factory setting is three hours. This keeps heating after precipitation stops to help dry the surface.
- Low-temperature lockout: when enabled, it prevents operation below 17°F (−8.33°C). The factory setting is disabled.
Record the existing settings before changing them and use the installer-approved settings for the site. Installation, electrical protection, and mounting must follow the complete manual and local requirements.
