AcoustiCORK R60 cork underlayment specifications

Specifications in the attached Amorim AcoustiCORK R60 data sheet.

The attached Amorim sheet describes AcoustiCORK R60, a 6 mm agglomerated cork underlayment for hardwood, laminate, ceramic tile and natural-stone floor assemblies.

  • Density: 11.5–13.6 lb/ft³.
  • Tensile strength: greater than 200 kPa.
  • Compression under 100 psi: less than 30%.
  • Recovery: greater than 90%.
  • Thermal resistance: R-value 3.12 per inch of thickness; this is not the R-value of one 6 mm layer.
  • Robinson testing: residential and light commercial ratings.

The acoustic ratings on page 2 belong to specific tested floor/ceiling assemblies, with different subfloors, ceilings and floor coverings. They are not a single sound rating that applies to every floor using cork.

Use the sheet for R60 identification and reference, and follow the installation instructions for the exact flooring and heating assembly. It is not a substitute for those instructions.
